1964 Hubert Johnson 24’ Blackjack Listed 6/15/25
Description: Blackjacks were a popular Johnson model in the 60s, designed in 1958 by naval architect David P. Martin. We purchased the boat in 2019 when its long time owner aged out. The boat had spent the previous twenty years being lightly used, docked in a Bay Head, New Jersey, shed right next to the shop where it was built. It underwent a complete restoration in 1988 at the Johnson Brothers boatyard including a new bottom, and had been well maintained since. The engine, a fresh water cooled 240 hp Chrysler 318, has been replaced twice - in 1988, again in 2003, and now has 340 hours on the meter. Hull is mahogany planking over oak ribs. Topsides are unvarnished teak. We found pretty much all the wood to be sound but that the bottom needed scraping & painting and the seams recaulking. We've also done refastening in spots since some of the bronze wood screws used in 1988 had lost their threads to salt water corrosion. The fix was to get them out, inject epoxy into the holes, and put in new bronze screws the same size as the old ones, while jacking or clamping the seams shut until the epoxy set. Has a top with side curtains, windshield wipers, depth finder, compass, VHF radio, anchor, swim ladder, porta potty, two boat hooks, bow rail, built in battery charger, and shore power hookup.
No trailer but could deliver in reasonable distance.
Price: $12,000

1950 15' Lyman Rear Steer Outboard Listed 4/30/25
Description: A fun little boat to trailer to little lakes! Aqua Baby, a beautiful example of a classic 15’ Lyman rear steer outboard restored to her previous glory. Starting in 2013, I spent 1-1/2 years rebuilding the boat due to damage caused from being left outdoors decades before. I replaced all ribs with new white oak steam bent ribs and repaired several planks. The keel and mahogany transom were also replaced. Seats and mahogany plywood foredeck are original and needed complete refinishing. Cardinal Red vinyl covered cushions added August 2015. The mahogany windshield came with the boat, is removable and most likely was an aftermarket product. Wanting a lightweight modern engine, I chose the Evinrude E-Tec 30. It’s 2-cycle and very clean running. The fuel pump was replaced less than 10 engine hours ago and the water pump in July 2022. New battery July 2024. Comes with a vintage Tee Nee sunburst yellow, road worthy trailer, tan mooring cover, life preservers, floatation cushions, two paddles, fenders and lines. The boat and trailer weigh less than 1500 lbs. Stored indoors year-round since restored. Hull #21622.
Motor: 2014 Evinrude E-Tec 30, 2 cycle, 2 cylinders
Trailer: Vintage Tee Nee sunburst yellow, road worthy
Price: $6,000 (or OBO)

1946 Old Town 16 'wood and canvas canoe Listed 12/10/22
Description: Mahogany hull, interior needs a new coat of varnish, in good condition. The exterior will need more work with new canvas. It is actually in fairly good condition for its age. It has been inside since we owned it.
Price: I have not given that much thought. I am most concerned that it will go to a person familiar with restoration who will give it the attention it deserves.

General Package Description: My name is Christopher from Williamstown, Vermont and my father and I recently undertook the project of redoing my grandfathers Century that had been under a tarp for years, after some professional examination we determined that it would be too costly to repair. Dad’s project, a 16’ Yellowjacket Runabout, 1956 -2007 Listed 9/16/22
Hull Material: 5 layer mahogany plywood
Motor Year, Make: 2007 Mercury 40hp
Trailer Description: Galvanized Karavan
General Package Description: Dad’s Project – A 16’ Yellowjacket Runabout.
The history of the Yellowjackets, designed by Richard Cole, consists of 5 layers of cold molded mahogany plywood. More details about Yellowjackets and this boat can be found in the Summer 2007 ACBS Rudder Volume 17 Number 1 edition. My Dad bought the unfinished hull in 1956. He installed the transom and spray rails and then because our home was destroyed by a tornado the boat sat in the garage of his new home until the fall of 1962 when I became the owner. I contacted Brian Lawson, Classic Boat Works, who finished building the boat which was launched in the Hudson River near Albany in 2007, 52 years after the project was started. In 2010 “Dad’s Project” won “Best in Class” for Outboards at the Lake Champlain ACBS show. Since then the boat has seen occasional use and it is time for me to sell.

1957 Chris Craft Barracuda Kit Boat 13.5 Listed 8/21/22
Hull Material: Wood
Motor Year, Make, Model, # Cylinders: Yamaha 25HP outboard 2011 4 stroke
Trailer Description if included: Vintage Tee Nee Trailer (unrestored but registered and road worthy)
General Package Description:"Wildfire". I believe this rare boat was originally built on Lake George in 1957 and I am the third owner. I purchased it three years ago after it had been crashed into a dock and the previous owner wanted nothing more to do with it. The boat had been painted with several layers of house paint, (yes, house paint!) and the seat upholstery tops had been varnished over. The outboard motor cowl was damaged and the midsection was broken in half. The splash planes were badly damaged as was all the rub rail. There was some wood rot on the transom and splash planes. Over a period of two years, I completely stripped the boat down to bare wood, repaired, resealed, painted, stained and varnished it. The outboard motor was repaired/rebuilt by Mike Proulx. The hull has 7 coats of fire red petit paint, the (laid fiberglass) bottom 3 coats of ablative. Over 12 coats of varnish topsides. The boats interior was repainted with white deck paint. The seat upholstery was custom replaced and all the rub rail trim was straightened and polished. New windshield moulding, decals, bow pole and pendants were added from Classic Boat Connection. All the wiring was replaced or repaired. I made a custom floor for the boat and added the correct Chris Craft pyramid vinyl. Special custom silver leaf decals were added. The steering wheel, windshield, and all the chrome fittings are original except for the current step plates ( I have the originals). I have photos of the entire restoration done by myself. The boat weighs around 500 pounds including the motor and is capable of around 30 mph on Lake Champlain with the current motor, a 25hp Yamaha 4 stroke. The boat is constructed of solid Mahogany in the framing and mahogany faced plywood on the topsides. It is around 13.5 feet long, has a 6 foot beam and weighs (boat only) about 300 lbs. The boat is registered and has a clean title. Comes with a vintage TeeNee trailer, clean reg and title and trailer and lights work, but trailer has not been restored. Comes with custom canvas cover, fenders, dock lines, extra parts. A perfect boat for small/medium Adirondack lakes and ponds. Turns heads everywhere it goes and gets lots of waves and smiles. Selling to finance another Chris Craft restoration. “Wildire” won Best Outboard and Best Amateur Boat Restoration at the 2023 Burlington Boat Show.
