Guest Speaker -  We are very excited to welcome our featured guest speaker, Gary Lefebvre. Many of you may already know Gary, or be familiar with his extensive exploration work on Lake Champlain over the years.  For those of you not familiar with Gary, or his work, provided below is a bio of Gary and a short overview of his presentation.

Bio - Gary Lefebvre: Gary is a Colchester, Vermont local, trained technical diver, and lifelong Lake Champlain explorer who has spent decades documenting the history preserved beneath the lake’s surface. As the owner, operator, and captain of the research vessel R/V Amazon, he utilizes side-scan sonar surveys, remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), and diving to locate and map submerged history. In 2020, Gary made regional headlines when ROV footage he captured off Colchester Shoal identified previously undocumented wreckage in deep water. Working alongside his wife, Ellen Hamlin Lefebvre, Gary records wrecks and submerged sites using photogrammetry—capturing thousands of overlapping images to build detailed 3D models—work that has proven invaluable to the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum.

Presentation Details: “Lake Champlain has literally hundreds of sunken wreck sites including Planes, Trains, Automobiles, and Vessels.” — Gary Lefebvre.  Gary's presentation will draw on years of survey work aboard the R/V Amazon, featuring underwater video, sonar imagery, and 3D models from his own dives, alongside the fascinating stories behind some of the lake's most remarkable finds.  His presentation will certainly be fascinating and quite informative.  We truly look forward to Gary's attendance and presentation at this years annual meeting.
