2011 BURLINGTON Boat Show Award Winners


1. The BEST OF SHOW award
Awarded to “BOLO BABE”, a 1923 33”Baby Gar runabout, owned by John and
Rebecca Allen and restored by Bo and Kathy Muller.

2. MOST ORIGINAL/BEST PRESERVED boat award.
Awarded to “JULIA VII”, a 1956 22’ Shepherd Utility, owned by Don Swain.


3. PEOPLE' S CHOICE award.
Awarded to “ELLIDA”, a 1958 Ohlson 35 Yawl, owned by Michael Munson andMary Jane Neale.


4. BEST OF CLASS FOR SAIL.
Awarded to “GRATITUDE”, a 2010 rendition of a 1948 design by Farnum Butler, owned by Eric Coker.


5. BEST OF CLASS FOR OUTBOARD.
Awarded to “STAR THROWER”, a 1923 16’ Old Town square ended canoe, owned by Jim and Ann McGrath.


6. BEST OF CLASS FOR CRUISER.
Awarded to “NAULAKHA”, a 1938 30’ ELCO Marinette, owned by Ed Hackett.


7. BEST OF CLASS FOR UTILITY.
Awarded to “IMPROMPTU”, a 1951 23’ Chris Craft Holiday, owned by Keith and Beth Gaylord.


8. BEST OF CLASS FOR LAPSTRAKE UTILITY.
Awarded to “MOLLY B”, a 1965 19’ Lyman Aqua Gemini, owned by Mike and Molly O’Brien.


9. BEST OF CLASS FOR RUNABOUT.
Awarded to “SMITTEN”, a 1948 20’ Chris Craft Custom Runabout, owned by Michael and Chris Smith.


10, BEST OF CLASS FOR CONTEMPORARY/REPLICA
Awarded to “TENDER 16”, a 2010 `16’ Callinectes yacht tender, owned by Glen Shivel.


11. BEST OF CLASS FOR LAUNCH.
Awarded to “ROSIE”, a 1903 21’ Lozier launch, owned by Jody and Diane Lapham.


12. BEST OF CLASS FOR PULLING BOAT.
Awarded to an unnamed 1896 Adirondack Guideboat, owned by Joe Otis.


13. BEST OF CLASS FOR RACEBOAT.
Awarded to “JOSHUA’S TREE”, a converted 1950 16’ Century Resorter, owned by Steve and Paula L’Ecuyer.


14. The BEST LYMAN AWARD. This is a perpetual award provided by the
Shelburne shipyard (once a Lyman dealer) which travels from recipient to recipient
each year. For 2011, it was awarded to “SPRAY”, a 1967 26’ Lyman Sleeper, owned by Ed and Diane Stein.


15. The JOHN LADUE AWARD is another perpetual award created by the chapter in honor
of a founding member who believed that boats were to be used and enjoyed. For
2011, it was awarded to “ELKIN”, a 1924 custom Prigg launch, owned by Jane Kelting.


16. MERIT AWARD awarded to “CHEERLEADER”,
a 1950 17’ Chris Craft Special, owned by Russ and Joan Fisher.


17. MERIT AWARD awarded to “FROLIC”, a 1957 22’
Chris Craft Sea Skiff, owned by

Mike and Julie Adams.


18. MERIT AWARD awarded to “KATRINKA”, a 1902 Elco Captain’s Gig, owned by
Myndy and Kate Woodruff.


19. MERIT AWARD awarded to “HANAH & SARAH”, a 2007 Contemporary Cruiser,
owned by Judy and Liam English.
