Lake Champlain Chapter ACBS Board of Directors Meeting Ferry Office February 8, 2005 5:30 PM
Members Present: Ed Bombard, Larry Asam, Steve Pond, Hans Pfister, Guy Cote, Myndy Woodruff, Mike O'Brien, Keith Gaylord, Tom Anderson, Bill Truex, Mike Munson, Judy Grosvenor President, Steve Pond opened the business meeting. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved with a motion by Myndy Woodruff, a second by Ed Bombard and a unanimous vote. Membership Jan Rozendaal sent the following information on membership. There are 95 paid members with 24 members not responding this year. Members here this evening will call to seek intentions of those who have neglected to pay 2005 dues. Mike O'Brien went over the e mail addresses of the members present and hopes to keep adding more e mail addresses until all are entered. Treasurers Report Mike Munson presented the Treasurer's report with a current balance of $3,486.51. There are 95 paid members. The balance is typical for this time of year and finances are sound. There were 150 calendars printed this year. Motion Myndy Woodruff moved we accept the Treasurer's report and after a second by Mike O'Brien the motion carried. Web Site Larry Asam was applauded for the LCACBS web site set up. There will be no charge for web site advertising. Resources and links will be placed on our web site. Larry asked for members to e mail to him their favorite resources. Newsletter Jody Maloy as Newsletter Editor has not responded with a recent newsletter. Discussion followed regarding a change to electronic newsletter versus postal. Jody will be contacted to see if she wants to continue as Newsletter Editor. An e mail alert will be put out to find other members would be interested in taking on this project, to collect information from the members and format it to send by e mail as well as postal. A March 1st deadline was given. Mike O'Brien, Keith Gaylord and Myndy Woodruff offered their services to put out a March newsletter until this matter gets resolved. Workshops Myndy Woodruff was pleased with the turnout of 14 people who came to the February workshop which was announced only on e mail. George Darling, who gave a workshop last year said he will offer one every other year. The Spring workshop will take place at the Hackercraft Boat Co, Inc. owned by Robert Lynn Wagemann, formerly owned by Bill Morgan, at Silver Bay on Lake George on April 9th from 10 to noon. Spring Meeting Clem Couture has set up the Spring Meeting on April 30th at the Comfort Inn in Page 2 2/8/05 Plattsburgh, New York. Program possibilities include someone from ACBS Headquarters to make a presentation about judging or a boat auctioneer from Wolfsboro, N. H. Summer Events An addition to the summer events is a Lake Champlain Marine Museum Small Boat Festival to take place on July 16, 17. There is dock space available for our boats. A possibility to combine our summer boat show with theirs next year was suggested. Tom Anderson will seek information for our group to join in the Old Forge Boat Show and Tour of the Fulton Chain of Lakes on July 8 and 9. More info to follow.
