Lake Champlain Chapter ACBS Spring Dinner Meeting Saturday, April 28, 2007 Holiday Inn Plattsburgh, New York The LCACBS 2007 Boat Season "kick off" dinner was held in Plattsburgh, New York on April 28th with 35 members in attendance. Myndy Woodruff, President opened the meeting with a welcome to all and introduced this evening's Program Presenters; member, Marselis Parsons and guest, Jack LaDuke from WCAX Television Station,. The Kit Boat Project was first on the agenda with questions about power in the boat. Jay Annis of Spencer Boat Works offered his assistance. Mike Munson suggested that the number of three to four youth and adults working on the boat at one time was most productive. The question to consider was, "Do we want to have this boat at our boat show in August?" The 2007 Boat Show is progressing, stated Mike O'Brien, Chairman. The show will be held at the Burlington Boathouse on August 17 and 18. The Boat Parade will be a 4:00 PM on Saturday followed by a barbecue supper aboard a Lake Champlain ferryboat. Dick Lang announced the International ACBS Annual Meeting and Boat Show to be held at Lake George the last weekend in September 27th,28th, & 29th. A cruise up the Hudson River precedes that event. The Fall Cruise may be held at Lake George during this time. Next year's ACBS International meeting will be held at Muskoka Lake in Ontario, Canada. Wings, Wheels and Keels will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2007. The first Lake Champlain Chapter rendezvous will take place on Father's Day Sunday, June 17th at Dana's Rusty Anchor on Valcour Bay. On July 27 and 28 a rendezvous with 20 boat spaces available will be sponsored by Spencer Boat Works on Saranac Lake. Gene Porter reported a terrific weekend at the National ACBS Meeting at Mystic Seaport. ACBS will award two $3,000 scholarships per year to schools for the support of young persons serious about the restoration of boats. A suggestion for name tags to identify members at meetings was approved. The meeting was adjourned. A slide show of the Fall Cruise of 2006 at Saranac Lake was presented by Jack LaDuke and Marselis Parsons of WCAX Television in Burlington and was enjoyed by all.
